Laser Vascular Reduction for Spider Veins on the Face & Legs

The Gentlelase Pro 755nm Alexandrite laser is designed to treat a number of vascular conditions, such as broken facial capillaries, telangiectasia, hemangioma, and port wine stains.

Broken capillaries are often referred to as spidery veins, also known as telangiectasia. These tiny vessels are often found on the nose, cheeks, and chin area; they are common to thin sensitive skins. These spider veins can also be found on the legs, mainly the thigh and ankle area.

The mechanism of the laser is based on photothermolysis, the specific wavelength of light heats the tissue and destroys the targeted capillaries or blood vessels under the skin without affecting or damaging the surround tissue. This assists in improving the overall appearance of the skin tone out encouraging the production of collagen to thicken out the skin.

During the procedure there is a minimal pain and the body slowly absorbs the vein in around 4-6 weeks.

This Laser uses perfectly timed cryogen (cold air) which protects the surface of the skin and ensures the Laser treatment is performed safely.

Pre Treatment Preparation- it is important to avoid sun exposure prior to the Laser. Non-prescription blood thinners should also be avoided to reduce the risk of bruising. If you are on prescription blood thinning medication it is best to discuss this with your GP prior to treatment.

Common side effects- the veins will darken and sometimes cause bruising or colour change that may take time to settle.
